Why I Prefer Pink Mobile Phones

May 21st, 2009

Even if your favorite color is not pink, there are a lot of advantages to the ownership of pink mobile phones. When released, for example, most new electronic products are plain black. Once they have increased signficantly in popularity only then do they tend to branch out into differing colors. If a pink version is available of the cell phone you want, that means that you’ll probably have an easier time of replacing it should it break.

Pink is particularly eyecatching. If you happen to lose your phone this really is useful. Although extremely popular with young girls, pink, as a color does not often get used in furniture or floor coverings.

The color pink is very much associated with a younger crowd. Most likely, a cell phone that comes in that color would be designed by the manufacturer to withstand more punishment. Probably the reason for this is that children and teenagers do tend to be far more careless.

The color pink is in fact a lighter shade of the color red. Red is the color that is most often used to warn; for example at stop sign and / or traffic lights. By owning a pink mobile you may well be able to reduce the amount of time you use your phone. While this might help if you are close to running out of minutes, it can also prevent you from making calls that may seem trivial but are actually important. For example, if you are almost positive that you’re having dinner with someone at a certain time but not completely sure, you might keep from calling because the color of your cell phone seems too threatening. Pink is a mixture of red and white and the white would perhaps suggest that it was a safer proposition to make the telephone call in order to discover whether dinner was actually at an alternative diner.

A pink cell phone might well be a fashion statement, however I am not an fashion expert. There are bound to be, you know, some women, who taking this to extremes have a colored cell phone that matches all their different colors of nail varnish. My opinion, for what it is worth, is that ladies such as these should look for more useful ways to spend their time.

I remember reading a poem when I was younger. It was written by a famous poet Gelett Burgess. It began, “I never saw a purple cow, I never hope to see one”.I would have put pink mobile phones in the “purple cow” category, before I did the research for this article. Now that I have had the opportunity to discover how handy a pink mobile phone is, I am definitely going to take them off my “purple cow” list. Someday, I would hope I get the chance to see one. Burgess’ poems final line still seems to me to be apposite however: “I’d rather see than be one.”
