is It Possible For A Cell Phone Really Replace Your Home Phone?

November 27th, 2009

Nowadays, there are way more individuals that are ditching their landline phones in favor of their T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.  Some do it because they most often use their cell phone to communicate.  Others do it because it saves them money, by taking advantage of low cost plans from companies like Verizon and Sprint Cell Phones.  It may be the in thing, but it is something that shouldn’t be treated trivially.  Has a cell telephone actually the most effective way of communication?  Is it a good idea to limit yourself with that and lose the landline phone?

For some, it could be an excellent idea.  For others, it may be a different story.  Here are some ways you can determine whether your cell telephone can replace your landline telephone, or if you continue to need both :

1.  Landline telephones will work wherever you use them .  Even if you have got a metal roof on your house, you will still be ready to dial out.  More than likely, you will not get a signal using a cell phone.  Metal and cell telephones don’t work well together and almost everytime you attempt to use it, you will get a signal interference.  You would need to depart from the house straight to get a signal.

two.  Receiving less telemarketing calls on your cell telephone is a blessing.  Thanks to the FCC ( federal Communications Commission ), telemarketers are not allowed to leave automated messages on cell phones without permission from the owner of the phone.  If you decide to ditch your landline for a cell telephone, you won’t endure many cold calls to your T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.

3.  There are some areas in which your cell telephone won’t work because there is a fixed amount coverage.  Even in some of the major areas there are dead spots where the telephone won’t get a signal.  The signals can always get blocked and you can’t always rely on getting a signal in a major urban area.

4.  If there is thunder and lightning in your area, landline telephones aren’t the best communication devices to use.  It is very dangerous and folk have been rubbed out as the landline phones are wired.  The hurricanes can hit the wire and you could be influenced.  Using a cell phonephone in a typhoon is better because there is not any direct connection between the lighting and the telephone.

Depending on your phonephone wants you have to decide whether or not you need to just have a cell phone, a landline, or both.  You also have to take into consideration if you have got a family that includes children.  In that case, you may wish to have both options.  It’s less complicated to assert that you would like to economize by losing one.  However, there might be a time when you need both.  You have to weigh it out and see what the best solution is.
