How To Obtain Cheaper Call Costs

October 31st, 2009

It has to be said that things are rather tough out their in the business world due to the current credit crisis. The recession is staring to take its toll and business profits are starting to become affected. The majority of small businesses are looking at ways of making cost reductions; some are laying off members of staff and others are finding different ways of reducing their overheads. These days obtaining cheaper business call rates is one of the most popular forms of cost reduction strategies. No longer are businesses accepting paying over the top for their call rates when in reality they can receive the same service at a much lower cost.

Now before I continue I must point out that I am in no way a cost cutting specialist, therefore I am not trying to sell you anything here. I am in fact a speech coach who runs a stammering course; I also have an interest in becoming a foster carer for my sins!

Ok so lets continue! That sounded rather abrupt. Cheap calls are now all the rage and there are specialist companies out there who are experts at finding you the cheapest call rates and therefore enabling you to save the most money. This is what they call in the city of London “a no brainer”.

I read an interesting quote from a company director of one business who had managed to save some serious cash from this form of cost cutting. He stated the following:

“I am more than happy at the savings that we have made and at just how much lower our telephone bills have become. There is however a part of me that feels like somebody has been stealing from me for the last ten years, the period that our company has been in business. I really wish that I had acted sooner.”

You may think that this is merely sales jargon and in a way I suppose it could well be; it did however make me sit up and think.

October 30th, 2009

This is has been quite a bad year for the economy, people have been cutting down on their spending, the credit crunch has really struck everyone and a lot of families have lost their job as well as their home.

The travel and holidays industry has suffered quite a bit there are numerous families that have not even contemplated going away this year, simply because they cannot afford it. But I am going to tell you a personal story that I experienced as to why British people would rather spend their hard earned money on a new mobile or contract phone.

Ok my phone had had it and I was topping up around 40 per month, so I decided to myself why not instead go and get a free handset and free minutes for that price. So I made my way to the local shop. To my surprise there were dozens of people literally ready and waiting to get a contract telephone. I specifically wanted to keep my phone number and have the ability to make free calls to Phone Numbers from any cell phone. But it simply would not pan out that way.

Anyhow while I was talking to the sales guy, he said to me how shocked he was at how busy the week had been, he said he cant believe there is a credit crisis. After a study it was shown that 41% would cut down on DIY, 41% on holidays, 16% on Television subscriptions and 10% on broadband services.

An average of £310.71 was spent on average per household on internet services last year, compared to £11.37 in 2007.

So there you have it all in one well formed and great article, you can see the pure amount that technology has developed, and people would rather spend their money and cash on handsets. But if you still fancy a holidays, take a look at this luxury cruises information

Tricks Of A Cell Phone

October 30th, 2009

Use your phone to track your expenses or track a package or even as a flashlight during a blackout! Here are four things you didn’t know your phone can do.

Click:  Cell Phones

1. On your Google account page, go to settings on the desired page and click notifications to pick which updates you’d like to receive via text messaging to your cellular phone. After entering your location and phone number, you would have to verify your cell number by entering the code you’ve received on the page – and you’re ready to go. Choose to receive calendar alerts, your events for the day, daily agenda, birthdays reminders, stock quotes from your portfolio and more.

2. The bill is .64, but you always tip 15% percent extra. Don’t have a tip calculator in your phone. Still not a problem. Use the calculator (every phone has it): to know how much is 15% of your bill simply divide it by 7 and round up to the nearest dollar: 79.64 / 7 = 11.37: 15% tip would be $12. To tip 20%, do same thing, dividing by 5 this time.

3. Can’t find your keys in the dark? Use your cell phone as a flash light. It only lasts as long as you are “recording” (and limited to a couple minutes in some devices) but that’s good enough. If you don’t have a camera phone, go to BlankWebPage.com to have a white blank page – that will maximize your phone’s backlight. Not as good as a flashlight, but still works!

4. There’s a way to still call an emergency number 112 is a worldwide emergency number for cellular phones. In case of emergency, even if you’re in an area not covered by your carrier, when dialing this number your phone will find another cellular network around you and will establish connection to make the emergency call. Check your phone: on some cellular phones, the only number you can dial with a locked Dial Pad is 112.

Reverse Cell Phone Directory: Find a Name and Address Instantly

October 30th, 2009

One of the best inventions ever created is the telephone. Over the course of its history, the telephone has progressed as much as anything else we know to date. Originally there was only the base that was used for speaking and an ear piece used for listening. The telephone is one of the most advanced pieces of technology known to man. We have caller ID, call waiting, and now reverse phone lookup. In earlier days, people would not have even imagined the many features that we now have on our telephones. Everyone knows about caller id and call waiting but reverse cell phone directory is new to the market.

Although the reverse cell phone directory has been introduced relatively recently, it has been incredibly popular since it was introduced. Here’s a quick example of what it is and how you’d utilize it. Let’s say some creepy unknown person keeps calling you with a number you don’t know. Reverse phone lookups allow you to find information about callers by looking phone numbers up when you go to the proper website. You can even see where they live along with the name of that unknown caller. Even though some people are determined to find a way to utilize the service for free, it costs money.

You can pay for a membership to a reverse cell phone website. By joining, you are opening up a broad array of possibilities for yourself. If you have membership on a reverse phone lookup website, you can do a whole lot more than finding the name of the caller. With all of the information available, you can almost be a private detective and perform entire background checks.

A number of websites offer access to their reverse cell phone directory database for a one time charge. Looking up phone information may appear at first to be an invasion of privacy, but there are a number of ways to consider it. You should think of reverse phone lookup as one way to protect yourself when you use your cell phone. For example, a call from an unfamiliar number keeps pestering your daughter. You can access information about the person stalking your child to see if they are a sex offender or not. Reverse phone lookup offers an infinite array of uses.

Google Android Debuts on the G1 Phone

October 30th, 2009

The smartphone industry is taking the world by storm. What launched as an online shop for iPhone users to download applications for their iPhones has today created a huge marketplace – an entire ecosystem where developers create applications for the iPhone users and who in turn pay money, thus creating revenues for both Apple and the mobile app developers.

Initially it was Google who started the process of developing it in an endeavor to provide open standard for mobile services. Other entrepreneurs joined Google to form the consortium named Open Handset Alliance (OHA). Sitting down in one’s best ergonomic chair can help you chill out. This Alliance was formed with the help of a conglomerate of around 34 software, hardware and telecom organizations that pledged to promoting open standards for mobile phones.

Their latest Android, version 1.5 has been nicknamed Cupcake and will be running the new Motorola DEXT. Is this something to look forward to? Definitely; with the current focus of mobile phones being connectivity, no one knows connectivity better than the folks at Google. They started working on an operating system which was Linux based, and was to be targeted to a range of cell phone manufacturers worldwide. And because the operating system was to be open-source, applications that could be used on compatible handsets could be created.

As always, Google has created a new standard in technology by offering this unique open-source mobile O/S known as Android. That makes the G1 phone the most accessible yet. Similarly Android is a threat to not only iPhone but for other mobile software’s also, as it being an open source developer driver software, there are more and more features and functions being developed for it with each passing day. Getting some free anger management help can always be good. A lot of people are clueless about technology. And while it pays to be blissfully ignorant in some cases, most times it doesn’t. Android enabled phones aren’t phones that can only be utilized if a robot says so (I’m sure someone in the world thought that).
